scroll bar

i'd really appreciate it if someone could help me figure out how to change the scroll bar on my journal. i know it was mentioned in a past tutorial, but i tried to do it, and got errors when i tried to compile. i imagine i didn't have the entire code, or messed something up along the way. so, if you can help me, i'd really appreciate it.
