Background and such.

Hello. I'm trying to do something to my layout that is so simple, yet so complicated. >_>. I want to make my with of my boxes of the component smaller than normal with a background. I read the Beginners yet not experience thing and I read the guide to shrinking it. I just can't comprehend it. >_>. Like, in functions on the component layout thing, it doesn't have the print_thingy to put the codes into. Eeek. If somebody could help me over hotmail or aim, I'd appreciate it a lot. Thank you. (I am definitely an idiot, I know.)
