Adding a space between components and entries

Hello, this is my first time posting here and I apologize in advance if this is incredibly stupid. I've been looking around this community for about an hour but still cannot find what I'm looking for (or maybe I just don't know what I'm looking for).

1. Basically, I want to add space between my components and entries. I used to have my components on the right side, and when I moved them to the left today, there was no longer a space. I'm hoping this is a simple answer.

2. Regarding my mini calendar component - when I click the button to go a month back, all of the calendar text becomes smaller. It's not completely necessary to fix, but it's really starting to annoy me. D:
