Color Won't Change

I was customizing my layout the other day and tried changing the entry background color from black to a lighter color but for some reason every color code I put in that box does not change the color at all I can change everything else just fine
This is the first time I have been unable to change it as I have done in the past.
Any ideas on why I am unable to change it? Thanks
