Removing Nav Bar; Troubleshooting Quote Comp

I've been using the same theme layer for nearly a year--only replacing images and colors when I want to change my layout--and suddenly there's a navigation bar between my header and entries that was never there before. How do I remove this unsightly bane?

ETA: I also just noticed that my second random quote component is pulling quotes from my first random quote component--something it's never done before, either. Is there a way to keep the two quote components isolated from each other?
