Mini-calendar component and sticky posts

I have two questions today :)

1. I want to put a small image above the calendar in my mini-calendar component. How can I do that. I see that the memories for it allow you to customize it as is, but I don't know how to go about adding an image.

2. Can we put sticky posts in our journals like this community has one or is that not allowed? And if we can, how can we go about doing that?

I found that crumblingwalls has a sticky note. So I guess we can have one. Question is, is there a tutorial for it?
