square bottom navigation bar

hey everyone :)
i'm editing my custom layout and everything is going well..the only thing i'm struggling with is how to get a square bottom navigation bar...i used this tutorial: http://community.livejournal.com/component_help/1227491.html , but it still doesn't work..can someone please help me with that ?
