really simple question here

This is it--When people type my domain name they sometimes get an outdated version of my journal. Rather than tell people to hit refresh, can I just add an auto-refresh code? And if so, HOW? The tutorials and LJ help do not directly address this. I'm not trying to learn web design, I just want my friends to get the current page without hitting refresh--that's too amateur even for me! I know I have to go to advanced customizations and I know how to create a theme. What's next? If you give me detailed instructions I'll send you $10 through paypal or mail you books/comix/a gift.
