S2 Component Scrolling Entries

I cannot figure out how to get the scrolling entries to work anymore. I used to have it, via this coding, but I've started over from scratch and have been using code from pamelajoy's tutorial. and the Additional Components tutorial here @ component_help.

I would like my scrolling entries to look like this again (Example c/o daimones), but still be able to keep my fixed table width for the journal.

Also, how can I get borderless userpics on my Friends views? I've only got them on my recent view.
