EntryPage Override and Custom Title Bars

Hi. Two questions.

1) I want to modify the entry page (the one with just a single entry and the comments). Currently in a comment, the name of the poster, date and time, delete and screen buttons, and permanent link all appear on one line to the right of the user icon and force the entire center column to be larger. This makes the right component bar appear off the right edge of the screen creating an annoying horizontal scroll. I would like to change the way the headings in the comments are displayed so it doesn't do this, but I don't know how to override this. Anyone know? Apologies if this has been discussed before. I couldn't find the answer I was looking for by searching.

Here's an example so you can see what I'm talking about. My screen resolution is 1024x768 and the browser window fills up the whole screen.

2) Is there a way to have the text in the custom title bars that appear as described on this tutorial change depending on which friends filter you're using? Example: Right now I have "friends" and "communities" in two different filters. Both have a title bar that says "friends and communities" because they are both friends views, but I would like the friends one to say friends and the communities one to say communities.

Customising the layout of your Comment Headers

A few people have said that the layout of the comment headers does not shrink well and causes their pages to be too wide. So here's some code that reworks the layout of the component headers. For previews of what it looks like wide and thin, see the images below. A few notes:
- the delete/screen/unscreen buttons only show up if you're allowed to perform these actions.
- the select checkbox only shows up if you are the "owner" of the page
- the IP address only shows up if it exists and you are the "owner" of the page

If you don't specifically like the layout that I've come up with, then you can use this code to have a starting point to play with. Happy Coding!

Making a Comment

I customized my style so that when I make a comment it would stay with the component style because I don't need to feel like I am back on LJ's site when I make a comment.

However when I comment on a free account then it keeps the original livejournal page but when I comment on a fellow paid member's page it has the component page. This is only in dealing with the friend's page.

How do you sort your friends entries? The links end up looking something like: USER/friends/groups

I really want to divide my RSS feeds and 'groups' from 'real people'. I've figured out filters, but I can't get them to work reliably. Your assistance is appreciate! =)
