turning titles into permalinks

I know the html for what I want to do, but I need a little guidance as to how to do the override. Which function prints the entry title? What is the best way to get the permalink? I want my entry titles to be like this:
<a title="permalink"
style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; color: #000000;">
     the quiz making the rounds
which looks like:

the quiz making the rounds

(I don't care that this won't happen for entries with no titles. I would also probably turn the style into a class in the css override.)

Hello all,

I’m fairly new to S2 and haven’t quite got to grips with it yet. I’ve created a journal using the component layout and it’s slowly starting to look how I’d like it (thanks to liabunny!). However, there are a few alterations that I’d still like to make to it that I’m not sure how to do without messing up what I’ve already done. Too scared to experiment as that went badly wrong the last time lol so hopefully someone here can help me out. Okay, here are the changes I’d like to make…

1) Insert more information into my profile component. Such as my username, age, location, etc This has been done, thanks!
2) Center and enlarge my title text
3) Insert html into free text boxes on the right side
4) Switch my profile with navigation so that the profile is at the top left and the navigation underneath it

Sorry if this is too many questions for one post. I’d appreciate help with any or all of them. Thanks in advance!

nav component

I am really sorry to be so stupid about these things, and ask these questions every day but, when i leave the nav bar at the top with the picture, i cannot make it transparent, also when its in its own component, i cant make that transparent either. So i opted for putting it on top and then the code for the picture, it erases my background and just uses the graphic at the top. So i want either one of two things:

Graphic at the top with nav bar and still have my other background, or my nav component on the side to be transparent. Does anyone understand what i mean?

unwanted free text component

I just switched to S2/Component, and I'm mostly doing okay with it, but I have one problem - I enabled free text and added an extra component to put a hit counter on my journal. It worked great. However, since I enabled free text I have this extra blank component (the "original" (?) free text component, I guess). You can see it right above the "visitors" component if you look at my journal. I don't really have anything to put in this component, since it won't let me use HTML, and I would just like it to go away. How do I get rid of it while still keeping free text enabled, or, alternately, how can I make it recognize HTML?
