Two Things:

What is the code to get both standard components and custom components on the same side. And, what is the code to create custom components. =)

Okay, one more ... I guess that makes three, not two.

How do I make my calendar days circular? anchan218 has her calendar days displayed with circles around each day. She has helped me a great deal on this but, the days on the calendar are still square.

This is the first part of the code that I have: I'm not going to post the function YearWeek::print () because when I do, the entire post gets distorted for some reason.

#Creating the mini calendar active background graphic if it is desired

$cal_active_bg = $cal_active_bg ? "background-image: url($cal_active_bg);" : "";

#Setting the mini calendar active background color
var string cal_active = "background-color: $*comp_bgcolor;";

I really couldn't find the answers to my questions in the past entries... so forgive me if this has surely been already asked!

I need the following tips:

how can I get rid off the *angles* of my components? as u can see they are quite invisible, but they can still be seen :/

how do I put the nav bar UNDER the graphic of the butterfly, instead of ABOVE...?

and finally...

how do I get rid off the LJ USERNAME thing before my entries? I mean... that part where it's written Chin Up Weirdo, to be more specific..?

help to everyone who will find me these answers !!!

I apologize in advance if my note will repeat any earlier tips I missed. Recently I see many questions about how to put something (text or graphics) on the top of the page, above LJ title. My solution is pretty simple. If we think about component layout as a table we can put caption on the top of that table. I.e. in my theme layer before TITLE tag I put CAPTION tag and after this tag I put any (well, almost any) HTML I want following by /CAPTION tag. So it appears on the top of my page.
Update: It goes like this:

function page_layout(Page p) {

   var string title = $p->title();

"""

<html>

<head>

<link rel="stylesheet" href="$p.stylesheet_url" type="text/css"/>

$p.head_content

"""; $p->print_custom_head(); """

<title>$title</title>

</head>

<body>

<br>

<table width="100%" cellspacing="12" cellpadding="0" valign="top">

<CAPTION>

<font color="#e5e5e5" size="4"><i>YOUR TEXT HERE</i> ©</font>

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v143/poluzhivago/userinfo.gif" border="1" bordercolor="f7f7f7" alt="PICTURE1" >

<a href='http://www.livejournal.com/users/poluzhivago'><font color="f7f7f7" size="2"><b><i>YOUR USERNAME</i></b></font></a>

</CAPTION>

<tr valign="top" width="100%">

  <td width="3">

   <img src="http://www.livejournal.com/palimg/component/clear.gif" width="3" height="1" alt="" border="0">

  </td>

""";

   if ($*comp_state == "left") {

      print_my_components($p);

"""

  <td width="3">

   <img src="http://www.livejournal.com/palimg/component/clear.gif" width="3" height="1" alt="" border="0">

  </td>

""";

   }

   print_my_entries($p, $title);

   if ($*comp_state == "right") {

"""

  <td width="3">

   <img src="http://www.livejournal.com/palimg/component/clear.gif" width="3" height="1" alt="" border="0">

""";

      print_my_components($p);

I have searched in the previous posts, but I didn't find an answer to this. Is it possible to add the To-Do list to the main entries page, so that it will be visible there?

Thanks in advance,
Anna
missjecka
I got the randomized user pic fine, but when I put my info in that component under it, the missjecka doesn't show up. I double, triple, and quadruple checked it, and it's typed correctly. Any ideas?
