Do the components support JavaScript?
For example, I want to post a recent image code from Text America in one of the components.
Is that possible, or no?

Just a quick question,
If I write in the height that I want a component box to be in the code of my theme layer and then put more information in that component box than the set height would allow to be visible, would it then automactically use a scroll bar for the component or when I go to compile the theme would it give me an error?

I would like to customize my journal so that :

1. It also shows the day of the week for each entry.

2. the time is at the end instead of the beginning.

(i.e. Monday - November 15th, 2004 - 7:30am)

The only tutorial I found, would require me to change to S1 instead of using S2, as I am now.

Is it possible to make the changes in S2? And if not how will changing to S1 change my current customizations?

Oh - and since I have created "a new layer" adding the "Update journal" component - how would I add the additional code to change the date so as not to mess up what is there, now?

Edit: Ok after doing a little digging, I was able to find the answer...however...something is still wrong...

The time now shows before & after the date, where I would like it to only show after.

I entered the following into my customization: set lang_fmt_date_long="%y%%, %%month%% %yord%%, %%yyyy%%,%%hh%%:%%min%% %%a%%m";

as per the tutorial however it didn't "override" completely.

Any ideas as to how to correct it?

EDIT #2- Finally !!! I figured it out -Thank you daimones for trying to help me ...but the problem was simpler than either of us thought. All I had to do was set the time function to "empty" and then add the time to the end of the date.

Like this: " set lang_fmt_date_long ="%y%% - %%month%% %yord%%, %%yyyy%% - %%hh%%:%%min%% %%a%%m";
set lang_fmt_time_short=""; "

YEAY!! I think I'm going to give customization a break, for now...LOL

Thanks again.

I'd like to say that this community has been of tremendous aid. I can't thank everyone, especially kunzite1, enough for their patience and help.

That said, I've been holding off on asking this question because it started as not a big deal, but now it's bugging me. I used the code in the metadata in box tutorial to place my journal entries into a flatbox. But this removes any formatting to the text inside (bolding, size changes, etc.). Now I know that I could achieve almost the same effect by just changing the entry component color, but that's not quite what I want. I like the rounded corners of the flatbox, and the way my meta info, comments links, and subject header stay outside it. But I'd like to have my text fomatting in the entry itself. I thought about creating a new div class, but I ran into two problems: not knowing exactly what properties to define for it, and the fact that my css is located in the theme layers while the entry formatting code is in the user layer. Does anyone have any ideas?

EDIT, 11/18: I fixed it, once kunzite1 pointed out the problem. I changed the class="compFont" tag at the end of the flatbox_open variable to class="entry". Duh. I can't belive how long it took me to figure out something that simple.

it won't let me change my date theme. if i enter set lang_fmt_time_short = "%%day%%: %%month%% %%dayord%%, %%yyyy%% » %%hh%%:%%min%%%%a%%m"; it comes out as "SUNDAY: NOVEMBER 14, 2004 5:12 PM » 5:12 PM NOVEMBER 14,2004"

can you help? also, i'd like to know how to change my date format to something like "05:12 PM -- NOVEMBER 12, 2004" so if you could tell me how that would be good.

Ok so I got the code I need to put scroll bars in my component boxes but it tells me to paste the code using the CSS Overrides tab. What is CSS Overrides and where do I go to find it? This may seem dumb but I've never heard of it before today. Help?

Edit: I figured it out. Thanks
