Component Help

ok, i have NEVER done this LJ stuff before in my life. So i have no idea how to do any of it, i just had 4 wisdom teeth pulled, and honestly, i don't feel like reading all this stuff x.X Would anyone be willing to customize my journal for a couple of bucks? *through paypal* PLEASE someone help. I finally got the customize features in component to work! Yeah!

Now I have another question.

How do you get active links in your journal entries to show up differently then the rest of the text in the entry? I have the hovering underline link customization, but I would prefer the links in an entry to be a bit more obvious.

i added a component box for text msg. when i try to add additional boxes for some reason they dont show up. i don't understand what i am doing wrong and have been trying to figure it out all day. please help

I need some help because I'm not what you would call code-savvy and I have no idea what the hell I'm doing. I was able to put a banner above me entries with this code:

I've seen other journals where they have both a banner at the top and a background for the entire page. I guess there must be another method that I could do the same thing with. It's probably ridiculously simple or spelled out perfectly in a tutorial here, but my brain has turned to mush after finals and I'm a little slow. Sorry :/
