Friends Colours on Entry Headers

OK, this is going to sound like an odd request, since I know people usually want to get rid of coloured elements on friends' entries. But, what I would really like to do is get my layout so that, on the Friends page, the entry header background colour is my friend-defined background colour and the text is my friend-defined foreground colour.

I've used the tutorial on making square components, and tried to put an if function in the section that draws the entry header (using code I'd cobbled together from some other tutorials) like so:

Collapse )

But that didn't work, because the compiler didn't recognise the variable $p.view=="friends" in that context. I don't know that much about coding - I can sort of handle things if I have a reference book - but can't really do things from scratch, which is probably why this went wrong.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me! :)

Tags / Square Components

Hey everyone; I'm new and I just have a few quick questions.

First of all, I got some awesome S2 customizations from a friend of mine. The problem though is that when he was writing the code, he didn't put the tags code in, and hence, my tags do not show up in my entries. I was just wondering if someone could give me the code that I could just copy and paste into the layout, and where I would paste this code.

Secondly, the square components tutorial isn't working, so I was wondering if it would be too much trouble to copy and paste the tutorial into a comment for me?

Thank you! I appreciate it.

[edit] Also, if you look at my journal, the little boxes in my calendar are really small, yet I haven't edited that code at all. Does anyone know how to fix this to make them their normal size? [/edit]
