Some questions about borders...

Thanks so much to the contributors at this community! I've now got my journal at 99% of where I want it. However, I did have a question about some pesky borders. I saw the instructions for getting rid of ALL borders, but I want to be able to keep the borders around linked images. The thing is, Component seems really weird about WHEN it shows borders and for what. For example....

On recent entries page: Userpics border=yes; Image borders=yes
Friends page: Userpics border=no; Image border=yes
Entry page if via permalink: userpic border=yes; image borders=no
Entry page if via reply/comment link: userpic border=no; image borders=yes

Now, I'd like to have all the userpic borders off and all linked image borders on, no matter the view. But that might be harder than it looks? At the very least, I'd like to have the linked image borders show on the entry page. Is there an easy fix for this? I'm a good at cutting-and-pasting the tutorials, but that's about it. So, keeping my limitations in mind, if anyone has a suggestion, I'd very much appreciate it. Or, if you happen to know that this is a giant pain in the ass and I should just forget about it, feel free to pass that on as well. ;)

Maybe it's in front of my face but please point me in the right direction.

I'm trying to use a header image, but I would like it to be above my entries, and to the right of my sidebar. I thought I remembered seeing this done once, where the header was placed where the Journal Title and subtitle is right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Thanks, figured out. :)
Master the possibilities.

The textarea box on my comments page is ginormous and it's driving me bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

Sorry, I had a Gwen Steffani moment there, I couldn't help myself. But maybe you can help me instead!

What code can I add or alter which will slim this sucka down?

If you can help me out, I'll love you like a fat kid loves cake!

Thanks and have a lovely day!
