A while ago, someone posted a link to the new palimg textures on this community.
I thought these textures were a great idea, but last time I tried to do any advanced customizations on my journal, I got myself into a bit of a mess. Hence I present to you:
S2 background textures for non-programmers
1. Go to http://www.livejournal.com/customize/ > edit customizations.
2. Click the "Presentation" tab and under "Background image", enter the following URL:
http://www.livejournal.com/palimg/textures/TEXTURE/ptHEXCODE
where "TEXTURE" = one of the following:
brushed_metal.png
burlap.png
camouflage.png
canvas.png
chalk.png
cork.png
fibers.png
floral.png
ice.png
manila.png
marble.png
paper.png
ridge.png
rough.png
stucco.png
terracotta.png
type.png
wavy.png
and "HEXCODE" is the hexadecimal color code for the background color you want to use.
3. Hit "save"! ;)
To use two different colors in the texture, simply add another hexadecimal color code onto the end of the first one. For example, the url for my background is:
