Navigation Bar Wipeout

I want to use a tutorial found here And I get it to work fine...but I want to get the navigation bar on top with the words centered on the page...When I use the tutorial it wipesout the nav bar and I really want it back...that's all I want..

When I asked the girl that made the tutorial she didn't know...
