Opacity issues

This is my first time posting here, and I have to say that the tutorials have been most helpful! You're all to be congratulated on a well-run community.

What I'm having a problem with is opacity. It seems that you can only set the opacity for .compBG, .entryHolderBG, .tabBG, .ltLine, .dkLine, and .medLine. I'm unable to find any way to independently change the opacity of anything contained within those first three fields, be it text or images. There appears to be a parent-child relationship between those fields and everyting therein, and the children are inextricably tied to the parents (forgive me for not knowing the proper terminology but I'm a novice in every way, though I'm keen to learn more).

As an example - changing the opacity of .compBG changes the opacity for all the components, sans the headers and the lines around the outside. It also changes the opacity of everything inside of the components, which shows that the opacity of text and images are capable of being adjusted. The problem is that I can't find a way to change them independent of .compBG. Looking at the code, it appears that the only elements that can be adjusted are "td class" elements whereas "div class" elements are impervious to change. Entering a command to change them compiles properly, but displays no effect on the page.

I have two questions:

- Is there any way to change the opacity of the contents of .compBG, .entryHolderBG, and .tabBG, or can you only change the entire block?

- What effect does the "-moz-opacity:0.65;" have on the opacity?

Thanks in advance!
