header problem

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

First: I have three arrows pointing at my first problem there seems to be a white space where I believe (if I'm not mistaken) a defined bottom portion of the box.

Second: I have circled the other area that seems to be.. well wrong. Again I think that should be a defined box area.

I have tried fixing both of these problems but every attempt I make ends up with me loosing half my components.

I would greatly appreciate any help! ^_^
