Decomments Muddled with Coding. - Solved

I decided to use layout I had hired another LJ user compile the Component code with in a layout I had purchased and Only now have I decided to actually use it, However becuase It was done in notepad The code seems messed up with the decommenting I've slowly eliminated the issue only to hit a snag. and now get this error:

I would greatly appreciate some one who has some S2 besides component Experience to take a look at the code and possible help me out, I'm starting to get square eyes doing this. Anyone willing to help with experience of course.

Edit: Also how can i remove the update box in the layoutis another thing I wanted to do.
