Icon in entry box

I'm trying to get the usericon to print inside the entry box, to the right of the subject, to give me more room for the entry. I've tried endlessly, but I'm missing something obvious here I'm sure, so if anyone can help I'd be really grateful.

I used this tutorial to customize the entries.
