I obviously have no clue what-so-ever!

EDITED: Okay, so, I feel incredibly retarded. I couldn't get it to work because I didn't have the theme layer selected. Ugh. I do have more questions though...

My layout is currently component and I'm using this square override as well as this one... I'd like to get rid of the top navigation bar as well as the title area. I tried using this override but it wouldn't work.

I'm trying to get my journal to look something like ohpaintbrush. THANK YOU!!!
