mac problems?

I've just switched from using a pc to mac, and have some new unwanted changes. The alt="" doesn't bring up any text when hovering over an image. Also the text in the side components is in a much larger font and different style.

have checked the css, but can anyone recommend any changes? Access to my layers can be found on my page.
