getting the userpic inside the entry

Hi. I need some help with getting my userpic to show up inside the entry box along with the text, please. (So I'll have more width for the text).

I've tried the code from this comment, but I don't know how to modify it so that it doesn't change my own customizations. I've tried looking at Customizing the Entries v4.0 but I don't think that's the correct tutorial for me to use. I think that might be for icons like "edit", "memories", etc?

I've been looking and trying different things for hours now and I've run out of ideas. I'm not too conversant with code language itself but I can figure out where to put the code once I get it. If I could make the userpic disappear altogether from the Entry View like I have on the Recent Entries page, I would also gladly take that code. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
